  • Develop and execute internal and external communications strategies, drafting a wide range of materials, including press releases, talking points, backgrounders, newsletters, intranet posts, biographies and award nominations

  • Lead projects with cross-departmental stakeholders, including government relations, marketing, legal, operations and design, as part of a team that operates like an in-house agency for the organization

  • Proactively pitch stories to media and prepare spokespeople (from executives to frontline employees), securing coverage in trade, local and national outlets such as CBS, NY1, iHeart Radio, News12, The Brooklyn Paper and McKnight's Long-Term Care News

  • Adapt media relations strategies and materials, in conjunction with a translation agency, to engage community media, securing coverage in outlets like World Journal (Mandarin), Telemundo (Spanish) and El Especialito (Spanish)

  • Manage inbound media requests, including drafting responses, internal approvals and coverage tracking

  • Maintain the organization's online newsroom, ensuring timely, accurate and engaging content

  • Contribute to daily organic social media, helping manage a dynamic content calendar, script writing, captions and video shoots, while also finding opportunities to repurpose content to secure earned media

  • Support Generative Engine Optimization visibility through strategic earned media placements and social media content

  • Actively participate in LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, organizing workplace events

  • Led client accounts in highly regulated sectors, like transportation and health, overseeing internal staffing, vendors and client relationships for contracts valued at $250,000+ annually (client list included CAMH, CUTRIC, Ontario Hospital Association, Ontario Long Term Care Association, Waypoint Center for Mental Health Care and many more)

  • Designed and executed public relations for government relations "PR for GR" strategies, with a focus on issues and crisis management as well as media relations

  • Prepared and navigated leaders from corporations, non-profits, charities, industry associations and government, including cabinet ministers and United Nations officials, through issues and crises and high-stakes media appearances such as The Economist, CBC's Power & Politics and CTV W5
