In my role:

  • Drove strategy and execution of communications initiatives in collaboration with cross-departmental stakeholders, including government relations, marketing, legal, operations and design

  • Developed external and internal communication strategies and draft a wide range of materials, including newsletters, social media content, intranet posts, biographies, award nominations, media talking points and board memos

  • Managed inbound requests...

  • Proactively pitched stories to media and prepare spokespeople, securing coverage in outlets such as CBS, NY1, News12 and The Brooklyn Paper

  • Designed and executed advocacy campaigns, including digital strategy, media relations, event management and content development, for social media and web, successfully influencing government policy, strengthening public profile and resetting the public narrative

  • Advised and supported leaders from corporations, non-profits, charities, industry associations and government, including politicians and United Nations officials, through issues and crises, and prepared them for media appearances

  • Secured tier 1 media coverage through proactive media relations strategies, for example, with placements in Bloomberg and The Globe and Mail

  • Ran large, complex clients in highly regulated sectors such as healthcare and media, overseeing vendors and staff on a contract worth over $250,000 annually
